I'll plug my mix here, too. Made for the competition, with free software (Dekstasy) and using varied stuff I've been playing this year, mostly psychedelic trance. Starts darkish and minimal, builds up to a melodic climax and comes down a bit emotional.

I recorded this mix, deleted out as a result of lack of satisfaction, did the exact same thing again, kind of rearranged things and did it again and now have this, so it better actually fucking be good.

Following on yesterday's posted mix, here's another one, thrown together a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening, accordingly woozy. This one's a lot more restrained than the last mix, a lot more -- digamos -- minimal. But not your standard click-track fare -- more psychedelic, unsettled. I'll try to assemble a tracklist shortly, but it kicks off with Tod Dockstader (apologies to Rob Hall, who did it first and better), glides into Mikael Stavstrand, his a Mathias Kaden mix from Archipel next, and on the way takes in Dave Aju's "Be Like the Sun," Petre Inspirescu, and more that I can't recall now.

Note: There's a moment about 15 minutes in where there's a bit of slippage between records. Not a trainwreck -- but the kind of slip that makes me gnash my teeth. You might not notice it. Just figured I should be upfront about it. The rest of the mix I like well enough to post as-is. If you find it an egregious breach of skillz, I'm sure you know the forums to say so.

I really hope people aren't interpreting my putting monthly mixes here for litle to no reason as either a teenager-esque call for attention or "yo! listen to my shit!" type self-promotion, but alas heres a mix for this month. Personally, I think this is one of my better mixes, for the firs time in awhile I had a surplus of tracks I wanted to use, and was thus selective, and it is some of my better mixing, but as I see I'm slipping into the self-promotional, I'll just let it be.

As advertised, my megamix has been completed. While I was concerned about the potentially onerous task of sequencing 40 tracks in 2 hours, I think this turned out rather well, and it's a good sampler of some highlights from the year. Yes, most of these are big tracks that are everywhere, but at least I don't think I'll see Pause, Got Thing, or the P-Song Remix in many other top 10's lists this year.

Thisnotanexit Volume 9 is now complete - thanks for the props on those who liked the last one. Its a pretty heavy tempo from start to finish so hold tight. Some newies - some exclusives - some oldies. Feel the acid.

A new year and i still need something to distract me from the meaningless of life, so I bring you
this, which I'm quite pleased with. December always brings me lots of good tracks, as is hopefully evident here.

it's a very faithful remix. read an interview where smd say they'll never remix a song they love like Big Fun again. they just wanted to know how he made it. it's not at all like smd, more like the drums have been changed to sound current.

Yep, the name refers to the fluffier melodic music heard in outdoors festivals at dawn. Ethereal, uplifting and brighter than the heavy growling stuff they normally play at nighttime. Oxygen Records are just one of the labels that specialize in this particular sound.

it is tight. but some of us have been representing deep dance music for years. i have shirts i made back in 02 (recipients of them include Titonton Duvante, Norm Talley, etc) that say "keep it deep" on them. and of course deep music has been around for a lot longer than that. don't believe this new "deep house" hype anymore than you should have believed the "minimal" hype, which was not at all.
