Hi
I am installed the Debian Lenny OS in my Dell inspiron laptop.
When i log into user mode i cant able to mount my ntfs file systems.
So i goto terminal and login as root and then mount the drive by
mount /dev/sda5 /mnt/general
i already create the folder "general".
Then i successfully mounted the drive, but when i try to open the drive
it shows the error "u dont have permission". But in root terminal i
able to access the files in that drive.

So i logout my user mode and login as root.in root user mode i mount
all the drives.
But again problem starts..
I cant able to write into the write into any drive..only able to read
the filesystem only!
Give me a idea to solve this error.

I feel u are trying to mount using Terminal command line it makes only temp mount using mount command

http://www.file-extensions.org/imgs/company-logo/891/linux-online-inc.jpg
edit in /etc/fstab remove the mount point of windows drive. be careful while remove the path

and edit the same path manually for the permanent mount the restart

for reference

....

I hope it works
