The wonderful people who come to our door steps - selling wares and offering services - repairing a whole lot of things- forms zips to pressure cookers to stone grinders ( chain, cooker, sil bhatta) offering to clean cloggeddrains , selling toys, fruits, sweets as well as performances ( magic, monkey shows, puppets, snakes. they ring bells, blow pipes, hit their tawa with a spoon - they sing songs, beat drums , whipping themselves, playing a flute - pherri wala/ walis are an endangered specie- gated colonies ban them and with covid 19 , every one is a gated colony unto themselves
Lokesh with his keen ear , curious eyes and compassionate heart and a rational mind - looks at these people and their calls as a soundscape tha t is lost to us forever . He looks at it as a culture, as politics, ecology, economic system and as a human business.
