Theme : Women in Renaissance Art
Time : 7.00 pm
Thursday 18.6.2020
The Renaissance is one of the most influential cultural movements in Europe. It has since captured the imagination of minds all across the world. When thinking about art during Renaissance, names of individual geniuses like Giotto, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo, come to our mind. For centuries, scholars have presented Renaissance as a male-exclusive narrative . The legacies of the few women who fought all odds to become art patrons and artists are largely forgotten. Let's uncover the mystery of the forgotten women of Renaissance.
Sumedha Bhowmick is an art history enthusiast and amateur artist. She is a long-time (though inconsistent) member of KLOD-B. She is part of the 2019-2020 batch of Springdales School. She is currently enjoying writing about herself in third person.
