FYI, Pearl asked for a little preview message to the class of 2008 from us.

******************************************************

Dear Klingenstein Class of 2008.

Congratulations on your pending graduation and the successful completion of your year in the Klingenstein Program.  You've worked extremely hard this year, and probably read several thousand pages more than you thought possible, but at this point, it's all worth it!

Our class had an extraordinary experience while we were at Teachers College.  It was a year that changed us as educators (not to mention the several marriages that developed out of that year, my own included! Would you like to see some photos of our daughter?) and gave each of us a very special, close-knit group of lifelong friends.

It was around this time of the year in 2003 that we decided to create a small gift fund for the classes that have followed us.  We had a few objectives:

-to help pay for some student expenses, even in our own small way.
-to create a connection between the current students and our class.
-to give tangible gifts to the students as a reminder that there is an alumni network out there interested in them and their success.
-to maintain the bonds and connections within our class each year through our fundraising efforts and our ongoing conversations about meaningful gifts.
-to keep saying "Thank you" to Pearl and to everyone that made our year possible.

As you join us in the world wide network of Klingenstein alumni (just like Grateful Deadheads, We Are Everywhere), we hope this inspires you to maintain your own connections with each other and with the Klingenstein Program.

All the best!

John Kurtz on behalf of the Klingenstein Class of 2003
