I have been utilizing this app for the past few years with great results on my Galaxy S2, I just upgraded to a Verizon Galaxy S4 and now when my phone is on silent the "use alarm volume" option no longer works.  When my phone is set to silent it will not ring or vibrate whatsoever.  Not sure if this is an Android version issue as my S2 had 4.1.2 and my new S4 is 4.2.2, but it would be good to get some feedback and see if anyone else is experiencing this issue or if anyone has a fix.

Hey Brian,

I dont have a verizon GS4 handy, but i'll see if i can borrow one to test this out. Alarm volume works for me on a nexus 4 with 4.2.2 so it is unlikely to be a version issue.

Is there anything relevant in the logs?

I got my hands on some logs from this problem, and dont see anything obvious, but I'll keep digging.

It does use a deprecated Notification API, so i'll try the new Notification.Builder, and see if that helps.

apologies,

Thanks for looking into this for me I really appreciate it!  If you need my help to test anything please let me know.  This app is truly a life saver for me, hopefully a solution comes quickly.  Thanks again.

Brian,

I've updated the Notification code to stop using a deprecated API. there's a new build here:

please try it out, and let me know if you are still seeing the problem.

Thanks!

As another data point I tried it on my Galaxy Note 3 as well and it didn't resolve the problem.
