This post re-publishes and comments on recent press statements from
the two Congressspersons who represent the vast majority of Klamath
River Basin citizens - Wally Herger and Mike Thompson. KlamBlog goes
behind and beyond the statements to speculate on what motivated them
and to reveal other factors which go a long way toward explaining the
Klamath positions taken by these two politicians.

We then present two Rays of Light amid the gloomy and increasingly
uncivil impasse that has developed. The Klamath Dam and Water Deals
have become yet another partisan Congressional battle between
Democrats and Republicans - a battle where the people, water, fish and
wildlife of the Klamath River Basin take a back seat to toxic
politics. We do not think this is a good development for the River or
for Klamath Salmon. It is but one of the reasons KlamBlog believes
that a return to the FERC process is the quickest and surest path to
dam removal.

Find out what the two Rays of Light are and how KlamBlog interprets
their relevance/importance. And learn about some questionable Klamath-
related activities which have occurred at the Northcoast Environmental
Center when you read this post at KlamBlog.
