Lower Klamath 5-6-13

HI Folks,

I went down around the Lower Klamath today but couldn't find any flooded fields, no peeps, not much of anything.  Indian tom Lake had coots, Eared, Western and Pield-billed grebes, pelicans, Yellow-headed and Red-winged Blackbirds, kingbirds and a Spotted Sandpiper.  Not much around. I saw a Great Horned Owl and owlets on the nest on Lower Klamath Lake Rd and at Miller Island and found a single fledgling Great Horned Owl on Merrill Pit Rd--no adult around.

At home this afternoon I had a Black-headed Grosbeak--first of season for me.
