Meanwhile, Lotte Confectionery, which safely passed the crisis of manufacturing suspension in 1970, achieved rapid sales growth thereafter. Based on its know-how that succeeded in Japan, it established itself as the strongest player in the confectionery market in the mid-1970s. It also expanded its food business through mergers and acquisitions. In 1974, he acquired Chilsung Hanmi Beverage (now Lotte Chilsung), in 1977 Samkang Industry (now Lotte Food), and in 1978 he established Lotte Dairy to establish a comprehensive food business group.
