Ifyou can manage to walk past all the honky-tonks and cowboy boot vendors in downtown Nashville, you'll stumble upon Rocket Fizz, a mecca of candy, sodas, and kitschy paraphernalia. The large lower level has rows of salt water taffy and specialty drinks (including bacon-flavored soda), while the upper mezzanine sells thousands of vintage concert posters, album covers, and tin signs. If you aren't planning a trip to Nashville anytime soon, you can find a Rocket Fizz at one of their 40+ other locations across the country.

IT'SUGAR is not your grandmother's candy shop. Sure, it may offer classic sweets like Charleston Chews and Bazooka Gum, but we doubt Nana's country store had neon mannequins or a full line of Saturday Night Live-inspired snacks (Schweddy Balls, anyone?). Founded back in 2006, IT'SUGAR now has over 80 retail locations across the globe, from Panama City (pictured) to NYC to Dubai.

All of the shops on this list qualify as a "world of pure imagination," but perhaps none more so than The Candy Room in Melbourne. By using black lines on blank white space, the store's designers created a childlike, illusional depiction of a furniture-filled room. Even the fixtures and appliances are drawn onto the walls, allowing the rainbow of candy to be the visual star. Something tells us Mr. Wonka himself would approve.

Ask anyone in NYC and they'll tell you: Entering Dylan's is like winning a real-life Wonka golden ticket. Since opening in 2001, Dylan's has expanded to Los Angeles, East Hampton, and Miami, but the Upper East Side flagship store (pictured) is our favorite. With its kaleidoscopic decor, cupcake booths, and candy-inspired libations (such as the Jolly Rancher Cosmo and Sour Patch Margarita), it's no wonder more than 2.5 million people flock here every year.

Everyone knows that candy makes everything better, but this Barcelona chain took that idea and made it the entire basis of their company. Happy Pills has six locations in Spain (including Barcelona's Rambla Catalunya store, pictured), each with a pharmacy-like feel and rows of candy packaged in medicine bottles and pill boxes. The sweets are delicious, and the tongue-in-cheek concept makes Happy Pills just as fun for adults as it is for kids.
