It may be nice but not a priority :)
Making one image is enough work already, keeping two is too much effort.
If only one is to be picked then i386 is still preferred as those
images work on amd64 while the reverse is not true. There are still
machines made today that do not support the amd64 instruction set
(some Atom based one at least).
i386 machines can still use more than 4Gb of system memory using the
PAE kernel which is the default in Ubuntu 12.04 and hence in Kiwi.
