FLL Senior Solutions Welcome Letter
Welcome to all registered and interested teams. The start of the FIRST LEGO League Senior Solutions season 2012 is about to commence and we warmly invite you to participate!
The Challenge
The FLL Senior Solutions challenge involves exploring ways to improve the quality of life for seniors by problem solving solutions to obstacles related to aging such as getting around, keeping in touch or staying fit. Further detail regarding the challenge is available on the following link http://www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge/2012seniorsolutions with global challenge release on 28 August 12pm EDT.
Team Registration
Registrations are now open. If you are interested in participating please email ad...@kiwifirst.org with the following details:
- Primary contact person’s mobile number(s) and email address
- Number of teams
- Estimated number of participants in each team
- Challenge set delivery address

Tournaments
2012 Tournaments will be held on the following dates and venues:
- Christchurch Regional: November 2012 (date and venue yet to be confirmed)
- Wellington Regional: November 2012 (date yet to be confirmed) to be held at Victoria University of Wellington
- Auckland Regional: Sunday 18th November 2012 to be held at ACG Strathallan, Karaka
- New Zealand Championship: Sunday 25th November 2012 to be held at ACG Strathallan, Karaka. You must advance from a regional tournament to attend the championship.
Costs
Team registration for the Senior Solutions Challenge is $373.75 (inclusive of GST and shipping). This cost includes the FLL challenge set. The challenge sets will be available for shipping from mid-August.
If you plan on sharing a challenge set between teams, the second team registration cost is $86.25. Please note you may only register two teams per challenge set and the challenge set is only available to registered teams.
Hardship grants are available for new NZ FLL teams. If you are aware of a school/group unable to participate for financial reasons please contact ad...@kiwifirst.org as this grant may be applicable to them!
