Hi,

How much is the default shared memory (/dev/shm) allocated on the SLES 11 SP2 appliances?
I haven't been specifying any value explicitly in the config.xml to control the allocation.

Thanks,
Bharath

The default depends on the physical ram size. /dev/shm is a tmpfs
thus the following applies if you don't set the size=... value at
mount time:

size: The limit of allocated bytes for this tmpfs instance. The
default is half of your physical RAM without swap. If you
oversize your tmpfs instances the machine will deadlock
since the OOM handler will not be able to free that memory.

Marcus
