Hello everyone! Issue here!

Here's what happened:

  1. I burned the KivyPie img into an empty SD card.
  2. The first thing that popped up was a terminal asking for login and password.
  3. So I entered the login and password. Yet, after it displayed "Welcome to KivyPie", it only showed a terminal below it (i.e. shows ' sysop@kivypie' and that's it

How do I access the part about game/app development? Is it simply a shell because there is no YouTube tutorial on KivyPie on how it looks like.

Do I need to download Raspbian first?

Thank you and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

KivyPie doesn't automatically boot into a desktop environment. You have to type "startx" to get a VERY minimal desktop that doesn't include much (or anything really). It doesn't even appear to have a network manager, so forget about getting wifi or bluetooth working. Honestly, I was really surprised when I first booted into KivyPie that it was so user UNfriendly since apparently, the developers created the image in an effort to make it easier...

I'm currently going through the normal installation steps that tell you how to install over rasbian which i had to dig to find. Here is the link.

https://kivy.org/docs/installation/installation-rpi.html

Hope that helps
