Ways to scale kivyMD 2.x.x buttons in height / width

Hi,

i have issues to programatically control the height of KivyMD 2.x.x widgets, e.g. buttons.
Specifically i use a dropdownmenu (kivy, not kivymd), to which i attach a gridlayout, in which i want to load 2 or 3 buttons. With kivy buttons, this is no issue at all. I can control their size with size_hint and they arrange perfectly fine.

Doing the same with kivymd, the position changes. But the size of the button doesnt change at all. Why? And how can i control it?

And no, it doesnt change neither with size_hint = None,None and width, height. No reaction as well.

Does anyone has an idea how this happens and, even better, how to avoid it?
