Hello,

I'm trying to package my application for the Kivy launcher on a Google Nexus 7.

Things I've done:
  • Installed the Kivy launcher from Play Store on GN7
  • Handled the __name__() within my code
  • Set up android.txt

According to the information found on http://kivy.org/docs/guide/packaging-android.html#packaging-your-application-for-kivy-launcher, I'm supposed to drop my files in /sdcard/kivy/<yourapplication>. Because the GN7 uses internal storage, no sdcard directory exists. I tried creating this directory but the Launcher doesn't seem to know where to look for it. As for my experience with an ATRIX 2 phone, the Kivy Launcher created this directory for me. I can't seem to find anything related to kivy anywhere.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Z

Hi, I have Kivy Launcher working on the Nexus7. As for the file paths...

/mnt/sdcar/kivy/YourAppFolderName/android.txt

/mnt/sdcard/kivy/YourAppFolderName/android.txt

or

/sdcard/kivy/YourAppFolderName/android.txt

or

/storage/sdcard/kivy/YourAppFolderName/android.txt

They are all soft linked :)

I use OI file manager and as a quick way to create a folder and test my files I use AirDroid to drag and drop in my files. Saves messing with a cable that are always 3 inches to short to reach!
I hope that helps?

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately, the Kivy Launcher is still unable to find my project. I copied a version to each one of the directories you provided.

I didn't have this much trouble with my android phone. Maybe I'll just load up a linux VM and build from there.

Thanks,

Z
