Okay. So i dont know much about GUIs im 17 starting my NEA for ALevel computer science and Kivy looks like exactly waht I need! I obviously was thrilled because I have little teacher guidance and want to expand my knowledge and get a good grade in the process. However, is there no way to make the download easier? It's very long winded and complcated. To others with wider knowledge it may be easy; i've been up for 4 hours now nearly 5 and still not getting anywhere. im running into issues with the command line I don't understand at all that I beleive in some way should be explained in a tutorial... maybe it shouldn't and im just tired and stressed and dont understand. But a simpler way to install this would be appriciated as i know of at least two others in my class and hav given up on it because they cant install it.

Please explain what your problems are, without knowing that it's hard to understand both what might be wrong, and what might be made easier. Are you following the instructions at https://kivy.org/#download ? What operating system?

Yeah I have been but for someone like me with absolutely no knowledge of the command line typing in python - -version straight of the bat comes up saying it’s not installed when it is, I can’t get past that... I’ve had my teacher look and she’s working through installing it to talk me through it properly. Thankyou for all your help

Hi

Yes, I agree the docs do assume quite a bit about. e.g. knowing what python is, how to install that etc. I plan to add that shortly. Just to confirm, you are using Windows? If so, here is another dead easy (and clean) way to install Kivy

With the new wheels, the way to install kivy on windows or osx should just be the few lines mentioned here https://kivy.org/docs/installation/installation-windows.html

I have personally thinking of providing a GUI just for installing kivy, to help people who new to command line.
Kivy installer written in kivy for windows, linux and osx...

This would ideally make it simple for people to get kivy up and running.

But if the PATH environment variable does not contain the path to python following the instructions is still (just a little) difficult. If you would like help using Skype or TeamViewer screen sharing session, I can help you out. Just drop me a private message and I will get back to you.
