Hi guys.

I'd like to be able to do simple audio recording for an app. I can do native but would rather use Kivy. I can see that by using the Android java interface in the above example, we can access the microphone. What about iOS?

  1. So am I right in thinking that I could use the Java interface for microphone access in Kivy/Android?
  2. Is there any equivalent for iOS or am I looking at a native-only app?
Sincerely,

Hi Blaine,

1. Yes, you can use the Java interface. In fact, we have an example for
recording audio in the pyjnius documentation:
http://pyjnius.readthedocs.org/en/latest/android.html#recording-an-audio-file

2. We started a work to do the same as pyjnius, but it's currently
stalled. I hope to get some times during the next months to finish it.
Right now, prefer to go native :)
