Viewing IP camera stream

Hi,

I'm looking for a bit of advice, I'd like to add the ability to view streams from IP cameras to an application to run on android and windows is this possible ?

I'm guessing gstreamer would be the answer but I'm unsure if this works on android or if there is a better way in Kivy to achieve this. The cameras can give a mjpeg of h.264 stream over http or rstp so support for this would be required.

sry for the late reply, but you'd need to experiment yourself with this. on desktop using gstreamer and on android a ffmpeg recipe exists that can be used to achieve what you need.

Did you ever get this project completed? I am looking to stream from an ip address as well... Any code examples would certainly be most helpful. The hautefeuille link above no longer works.
