Dear all,

I have been implementing a kivy application, which uses BeautifulSoup. It runs on desktop but crashes on my device. I get the same error message as many people did, when I try to run it.
I have been looking for an answer regarding how to include bs4 into my app and found one here, which suggest to create an APK for the package.

Because I managed to create the APK, I would like to ask whether there is a way to add/include this apk into my kivy app. If yes, could you please, explain it to me?

I would greatly appreciate your help!

Best regards,
Bence

You're referring to the error about importing one of the beautifulsoup components? As I remember, this occurs because beautifulsoup needs compiling, but python-for-android does not curently have a recipe for this. I don't know how beautifulsoup is structured, but it may be quite easy to add one. There's some documentation on this at
 http://python-for-android.readthedocs.io/en/latest/recipes/

Hi,

thanks for your reply! I've managed to create and build the recipe, which I have attached (hopefully it was structured well).
I would like to ask, whether there is a way to include the created apk into my kivy project/app, so that I can use the BeautifulSoup package (on the device as well). If there is, could you please, explain the process to me?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Best regards,
Bence
