Hello,

I have been learning Kivy over the last days and so far, everything has been pretty great. I do have a question however: I started developing on Linux and whenever I right clicked, I would get the 'red dot' to simulate the multi-touch of a touchscreen. Left clicking would just do a click. From what I've read, this seems to be the normal and intended behaviour.

I switched to Windows 7 today because I wanted to have my Kivy applications interact with my Arduino (the only reason being that I was too lazy to install the Arduino IDE on Linux... :p). That's when I noticed a strange behaviour:

(please disregard the stupid label texts or crappy interface, this is a work in progress :) )

Every time I LEFT click, a red dot appears. Right clicking also creates a red dot and seems to have the same behaviour as left clicking as well. In other words, whether I left click or right click, it seems the Kivy applications understands I do both at the same time. This behaviour does not appear on Linux (Mint). I normally have no issues with my mouse when doing other tasks.

Has anyone else observed this? If so, how did you solve it? Any ideas what could cause this?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Best regards,

Robert

Guys I know this sounds a bit odd but could you guys ensure that ctrl isn't pressed while you left click?
Is it remotely possible that ctrl is permanently depressed? ... broken keyboard maybe?

The only reason I mention this is cause there have been reports of this issue earlier and in those cases it
turned out to be a permanently depressed ctrl key.

If this is not so and you still get the issue, then try disabling multi-touch emulation in your config.

Best Regards

Kivy make red dots on Ubuntu and Windows Vista as well - I have seen this on multiple computers and OS's - it is probably the same on anything that has a mouse.
One user of an app I've made, uses it as a feature - to mark numbers  on the screen he wants to remember!

Oh, I see now the OP said LEFT click.  I get a red red dot only when right clicking. Still, it is unexpected behavior.

G is correct, it is the RIGHT click were I see red dots, not the left one.
Sorry for incorrect reading late in the evening...

For me, I just bashed the keys (not normally a good practice, I know) a few times, and it fixed itself.
