Can Kivy obey the "Auto-capitalization" setting in the Android keyboard?

There is an option in the default Android keyboard (Gboard) to auto-capitalize the first letter in a sentence. All Android apps I know obey this setting except Kivy. Kivy ignores it. Is there any way to make Kivy's Texinput obey this setting as well?
