Install Kivy 1.8 in Ubuntu

Hi !

Sorry, i failed to find any tips on google for resolve my problem :

I want to learn python3 with Kivy 1.8 on Ubuntu 14. I followed this instructions in the doc :

1 - add-apt-repository ppa:kivy-team/kivy

2 - apt-get update

3 - apt-get install python-kivy

it work fine on python 2.7 but it's the 1.7 version and python3 can't import kivy.

Somebody can tell me how execute the manip ? i'm a beginner in linux and python :)

I'm afraid we haven't had much testing on Ubuntu 14.04 or Python 3.4 yet. You could try to adapt the manual install instructions here, but there are quite a few differences http://kivy.org/docs/installation/installation-linux.html?highlight=linux#ubuntu-12-04-with-python-3-3

i looked in https://launchpad.net/~kivy-team/+archive/kivy/+packages and we can see "there were build failures" for the trusty package. It's a clue ! :)

among the dependencies, kivy also needs python3-pygame which can be found here :

I'm running 14.04 Trusty. Regardless of what I attempt to do, I keep getting 1.7 version of Kivy installed, instead of 1.8. Have all the dependencies installed. Added the Kivy repository. Any suggestions?

Was able to install the latest dailies. Still unsure as to why I could not get the latest stable.
