Hi, Would greatly appreciate help with an error I cannot resolve,
while following the Android package build instructions at:
https://kivy.org/doc/stable/guide/packaging-android.html

The build goes badly with the message:
Warning: Failed to download any source lists!

#    Instead of doing:
#
#[app]
#source.exclude_patterns = license,data/audio/*.wav,data/images/original/*
#
#    This can be translated into:
#
#[app:source.exclude_patterns]
#license
#data/audio/*.wav
#data/images/original/*
#

#    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
#    Profiles
#
#    You can extend section / key with a profile
#    For example, you want to deploy a demo version of your application without
#    HD content. You could first change the title to add "(demo)" in the name
#    and extend the excluded directories to remove the HD content.
#
#[app@demo]
#title = My Application (demo)
#
#[app:source.exclude_patterns@demo]
#images/hd/*
#
#    Then, invoke the command line with the "demo" profile:
#
#buildozer --profile demo android debug

This is a new one....

The fail is occuring while Google's sdkmanager is trying to download specific sdk versions.
Assuming it is not an issue that has gone away because a server was down at the time...

The instructions referenced say to install buildozer with sudo, the history above does not do that. - Somthing to check.

But if you do that uninstall Buildozer first
and check there is no residual link in ~/.local/bin  because of the "--user"
and delete ~/.buildozer
and <project>/.buildozer

Thank you very much for your suggestions.
I was finally able to build and install my first apk! To get over the above error:

1. I noticed command: sdkmanager --list produced same error, so assumed my Android installation was bad.
2. Removed all folders pertaining to Android, SDK, cmdline-tools
3. Installed sdkmanager using https://android.tutorials24x7.com/blog/how-to-install-android-sdk-tools-on-ubuntu
4. Used accepted answer at:
5. Removed all Buildozer folders
6. Installed buildozer using: https://buildozer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installation.html

I have recently had exactly the same problem. Nothing on stackoverflow helped and not the solution posted previously here.. so I did hardcore debugging with strace and found out that sdkmanager attempts a connection to "::ffff:142.250.181.206" which is ipv6 and apparently does not work over my network.

The solution is really simple knowing that :

export _JAVA_OPTIONS="-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true"
