Al Samani Al Hadi (Meriam's brother) said his sister should be put to death if she does not 'return' to Islam.

If Meriam will deny her faith in Christ and become a Muslim, they will let her go. If she doesn't -- she dies.
We must keep the pressure on the Sudanese government… We must keep this story in the headlines.
Dear All,
She will be flogged within days unless someone intervenes. But questions still remain, like: who will intervene? -- and where is Obama?
In my last email to you, we raised the major question: why are world leaders numb when it comes to helping Meriam Yehya Ibrahim?
[The 27 year old Sudanese Christian -- who was sentenced to death by hanging for her faith.]
It is apparent that world leaders have dropped the ball and they are not the leading advocates for Meriam's freedom. So, if they will not step up, who will? The answer is simple -- you.
What is currently helping Meriam and will ultimately help free Meriam from this unjust punishment is public outcry.
Now Antony, will you use your voice to help Meriam?
Help us bring Meriam's case to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights – help us appeal to the United States Deputy Ambassador to Sudan.
As we sign and circulate this petition, we are keeping this story going. Every time the petition is signed, we send an email directly to the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, the President of Sudan, and the US Embassy in Sudan.
Currently we have sent them over 283,000 emails. Help keep their inboxes full… help keep social media buzzing… help keep Merriam's story on the front page of every newspaper.
We must urge them to act!
There is a powerful enemy against the freedom of Meriam. This oppression is working within the Sudanese government -- and furthermore in her own family.
A shocking video surfaced last week. CNN did an exclusive interview with the brother of Meriam. When asked by a CNN reporter, "This is your sister? Will you allow yourself to see her executed? To watch her walk to the hangman's noose?”
He replied, "But why would I indulge my humanity, my emotions and incur the wrath of my Lord? That's not how it works for us.”
His statement and remarks on the matter were very clear, as he prefaced the interview with,
"We are a Muslim people. In a free country. We are a sovereign state with our rulings and our constitution. Our laws have been validated by our parliament. A free country ruled by our laws that are derived from the Quran, and the teachings of the Prophet peace be upon us. It is one of two: [1] If she repents and returns to our Islamic faith, and embraces our family, then we are her family and she is ours. We will hold her dearer than the apples of our eyes. [2] But if she refuses she should be executed. We will not deny Islamic law. This is what the law states and we will never allow any distortion of that.”
Dear all, I am shocked and appalled by his words.
If Meriam will deny her faith in Christ and become a Muslim, they will let her go. If she doesn't -- she dies. Meriam is in this situation because she is standing strong and refusing.
We must keep the pressure on the Sudanese government… We must keep this story in the headlines. It is extremely important that we do not forget Meriam. What will help free her (them) is public outcry.
If you have not already, please sign the Personhood USA petition for Meriam:
As it stands in the legal process, Meriam's case is currently being heard by an appeals court. The hearing will be over within days. If the appeals court does not overturn her convictions, Meriam will be flogged immediately.
In the process of flogging, Meriam will receive 100 lashes from a whip. Reports say that 100 lashes will certainly take off the skin of Meriam, but reports also say that she could die in the process.
Let's stand up for Meriam. Help convince the right people to act. Together -- let's stop the apathy of these world leaders!
This petition is being sent directly to the UN Human Rights Commissioner, it is being Cc'd to the President of Sudan (a really bad guy), and the Deputy Chief for the US Embassy in Sudan.
We need to urge them to act immediately! The longer they wait the direr the situation becomes.
Warmest regards,
Gregory Mertz and the whole CitizenGO team
P.S. -- Many of you have already signed the petition. Could you help spread the word about Meriam by asking your friends and family to join you in signing? We can keep Meriam relevant, in today's headlines, with our effort to keep pressuring the proper parties to free Meriam. Together, let's keep talking about the injustice in the Sudan – the Meriam story!
