This article only applies to customers who have subscribed to Netflix through an X1 TV Box or Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box, also known as Comcast-billed Netflix customers. If you have Netflix included in your X1 package, see Netflix FAQs.
We provide Comcast billing for your Netflix charges as a convenience. Your Netflix subscription charge will appear on your Comcast bill under the Other Service Providers heading and will include the amount of the charge and the date through which you will have service, as determined by Netflix. (Please note, your Netflix subscription may be subject to associated taxes and fees.)
If you are on a trial or promotion, your Netflix subscription will still appear on your statement, but will show a $0.00 charge. At the end of the trial or promotion, the charge will reflect the price of your Netflix subscription package. Please see netflix.com/youraccount for a summary of your Netflix account status, plan and charges.
You may change your method of payment from your Comcast bill to a credit or debit card or another payment option accepted by Netflix at any time. To do so, contact Netflix support at netflix.com/youraccount. Note that Comcast-billed Netflix charges count toward your Xfinity On Demand/Pay Per View purchase limit unless Netflix is included in your Xfinity package.
One common problem to be aware of is accidentally signing up for an additional Netflix subscription on Xfinity Flex or X1 while already having an existing Netflix subscription that is using a different method of payment. If this happens and you would like to cancel your Comcast-billed Netflix account, contact us. To cancel or request credits for any other Netflix accounts, contact Netflix support at netflix.com/help.

Lastly, one additional difference to consider with the coming of the Standard with ads tier (outside of having to watch between four and five 15- or 30-second ads per hour) is that some movies and shows will not be available, and users will not be able to download content for offline viewing.
The Standard or Premium plans are great places to get started. Each of these plans allows viewers to get the Full HD experience and beyond. If you want to dip your toe in, with the upgraded Full HD stream of the Standard with ads tier, this could also be a good place to start. As an added perk, the Standard with ads, Standard, and Premium subscription plans offer sharing, meaning you can view Netflix content on multiple devices.
Netflix today rolled out a revamp of its mobile apps that aims to make it that much quicker to find something to watch when you're on your iPhone. The new "My Netflix" section is a one-stop shop tailored to you with easy shortcuts. The update is available now for iOS and is coming to Android in early August, the company said in a blog post.
Netflix has pared down its subscription options, starting with accounts in the U.S. and U.K. As noted by U.K. site CordBusters, the $10-a-month Basic plan is no more, at least for new subscribers. That option got you the ability to watch ad-free on a single device, limited to 720p resolution.

Please add the ability to select from multiple accounts (similar to netflix profiles) when the twitch app is opened (android tv doesn't have this, at least, not sure about other tv apps). I share my television with family and it's a pain to log out and back in every time someone else uses the television.

Even before millions were confined to their homes by a global pandemic, improvements in internet connections and service offerings had led to an exponential increase in the use of streaming video around the world. With few options left for entertainment, streaming services are taking off. In this commentary, we examine the carbon footprint of these services.
Streaming services are associated with energy use and carbon emissions from devices, network infrastructure and data centres. Yet, contrary to a slew of recent misleading media coverage, the climate impacts of streaming video remain relatively modest, particularly compared to other activities and sectors.
Drawing on our analysis and other credible sources, we expose the flawed assumptions in one widely reported estimate of the emissions from watching 30 minutes of Netflix. These exaggerate the actual climate impact by up 90 times.
The relatively low climate impact of streaming video today is thanks to rapid improvements in the energy efficiency of data centres, networks and devices. But slowing efficiency gains, rebound effects and new demands from emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, raise increasing concerns about the overall environmental impacts of the sector over the coming decades.
Update 11/12/2020: The energy intensity figures for data centres and data transmission networks were updated to reflect more recent data and research. As a result, the central IEA estimate for one hour of streaming video in 2019 is now 36gCO2, down from 82gCO2 in the original analysis published in February 2020. The updated charts and comparisons also include the corrected values published by The Shift Project in June 2020, as well as other recent estimates quoted by the media.
Looking at electricity consumption alone, the original Shift Project figures imply that one hour of Netflix consumes 6.1 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity. This is enough to drive a Tesla Model S more than 30km, power an LED lightbulb constantly for a month, or boil a kettle once a day for nearly three months. The corrected figures imply that one hour of Netflix consumes 0.8 kWh.
