nice work jeremy! this is exciting!
i think you should contact turner exhibits and have them consult with
you on building this thing. get in touch with phil turner or jeremy
kramp...if you have money or receive some great money, they would be
an excellent crew to consult with and fabricate the machine. check
out some of their work. http://www.turnerexhibits.com/portfolio.php?sub=kinetic

Jeremy,

I'm not sure what kind of budget you have - if this is totally home-
grown and you might need to fabricate some parts/prototypes yourself,
here's a link to my information on casting your own parts in aluminum.
You can do it yourself, or I can help.

Note the link to Metrix Create Space (http://metrixcreatespace.com/).
This place is on Broadway, in Seattle. They have 2 "maker bots" and
laser cutting. If you designed a part in Solidworks, they could output
a real, 3D prototype in ABS plastic for VERY CHEAP, which we could use
in our (also cheap), home-made foundry as a pattern model to then cast
an aluminum part. The possibilities are pretty exciting!
