Got out for a short session in American Falls Res this evening. I’ve been eying it because the water has been low and it’s relatively shallow (less than knee deep). I’ve been on the west end of AF late season but found out there’s still barbed-wire fences still out there! So figured this would be a safer option.
Bit of a 4x4 path to get out to the beach and Baja across the sand. Water was barely choppy, sort of a south Padre vibe, just a lot colder. Wind was pumping, gusting 35, and had a blast. Funny part was I thought I had made it a long ways across the res but when I looked at the gps map it looks like I barely made a dent!
A buddy shows up who’s interested in kiting and has already flown a trainer so then spent a little bit of time showing him the basics.
Fun “new” spot. Hope you all are doing well!
Cheers,
-Taylor
