Hi all,

Today a fellow winger was informed that parking on the side of the boat ramp is illegal.  He was requested to pass the information along.
While all of us didn't receive any citations today (and personally, I've never had one), please consider that you are now informed.
You can make your own decision whether to continue to park on the side of the boat ramp and risk getting a ticket.

Take care and hope to see you on the water tomorrow.

Forecast still looks to have morning wind but now with quite a bit of clouds.
I hope we can have one more day of morning wind before the moisture moves into the area on Sunday.

Best regards,
Chris Lee.

We need to ask about this. When the water gets low, we all parked on the side last year after the new the ramp opened. No one wants to walk the half mile down to the water.

Not fair, there is no sign of no parking, how can they give tickets?

I guess the phrase that was passed to me is “parking there is illegal”.
The rest was added by me and my interpretation.
Any idea who I should follow up with?
USACE? Ada County Sheriff?

Best regards,
Chris Lee

I just looked here: https://www.nww.usace.army.mil/Locations/District-Locks-and-Dams/Lucky-Peak-Dam-and-Lake/Lucky-Peak-Dam-Recreation-Area/
And it said:
  • Parking is in designated areas only. Overflow parking and parking for oversized vehicles that do not fit painted stalls is available on designated road shoulders and at the Spillway adjacent to the dam.

Darn it!

However, we need a very angry officer to come write tickets at sunrise, they must have better things to do around schools on weekdays and churches on Sundays

There was no officer.
My understanding it’s just the USACE person that’s pushing the dock down that told one of the fellow winger.
While I’m not recommending the following and YMMV:
Continue to park on the side of the ramp and just be aware that’s technically against the rule. Chances are there’s no one to enforce that.
Personally I’ll probably do the walk… especially on a “busy” weekend.

Best regards,
Chris Lee
