Storing Veggies
  • Make sure your vegetables are quite dry before storing. Vegetables that are damp or wet will spoil more quickly than dry vegetables.
  • Line the bottom of you vegetable compartment with paper towels or place a few dry sponges in with the vegetables. Either will absorb excess moisture and keep vegetables fresh.
  • To preserve your garden-fresh herbs, wash quite a chunk of leaves, put them in a little mini food processor and puree them with a tad bit of water. Then put the herb puree into an ice cube tray and freeze. When you need it for a meal, just pop out a cube and toss it in the pot and let it melt! The large cube measures out to about a Tbsp.

Ants!
Ants, ants, ants everywhere ...Well, they are said to never cross a chalk line. So get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or wherever ants tend to march.
