Hi,

Is there by chance a way to turn off support for a particular region of a model, but allow support for the rest of the part?

This would be epic :) :)

I usually do this by refining the angle limit.

there's only a maximum height limit and a minimum angle limit. Kisslicer does not support arbitrary support placement (yet!) although a few have asked for it. The only slicer i know of that for sure allows that, costs something like $200

Manual support placement is IMHO a remedy to weak support generation.
IMHO Kisslicer has the best support strategy, I see no need for manual placement kludges.
IF it is really needed, supports can be modeled inside the part to be printed.

What I find really missing is the control on support extrusion and build (raft thickness, spacing, etc....)

CraftWare also supports manual support positioning and it's free.

You are kind of looking at it opposite to the imagined purpose I had however. What I was more so imagining was the ability to utilize the support generation of Kiss the way it is, but then for example, be able to turn off support for some text on the surface of the part that is facing the glass. For text like this bridging works great and support is nearly impossible to remove without making it look like junk afterward. However, turning off support is not a possibility because it is needed elsewhere in the model. Adjusting the angle is not an option either because the areas that need the support are horizontal overhangs, but are not bridgeable.
built in Detection of bridging with some threshold would work too I suppose, and might be a lot easier than programming a way for user surface selection of possible support candidates. Either way, I would not see this as a remedy to weak support generation, because Kiss does not have weak support generation, yet this is still a need of some it would seem?

Would you please specify that slicer with arbitrary support ?
Thanks,
Vlad
