Well I am very pleased to announce the first public beta release of GPX. A gcode to x3g conversion utility I have written to make it easier for Makerbot 3D printer owners to use KISSlicer as their slicer. In the past you had to load the sliced gcode into ReplicatorG or Makerware to export it, now you can install GPX and it will do the conversion in a matter of seconds as a post process from within KISSlicer

Hi, is it a bowden or direct drive you use?
The destring settings seem to me odd (at least very different to mine: i use a direct drive system):
destring_suck=6 (I use 0.5mm, I think a bowden system is max 2mm?, maybe check what the Ultimaker guys have set?)destring_prime=6 (same here: I use 0.5mm, I think bowden is max 2mm?)
destring_min_mm=0.5 (this is the min distance of travel for a wipe (going back over the extruded path) : I have set it to 5mm)destring_trigger_mm=0(0mm: This is always destringing with each travel, which isn't a good thing: I have set it to 5mm as well)destring_speed_mm_per_s=80 (different stories about the speed: some say it must be fast (like 80mm/s), but when destringing 6mm, as you do, it was resulting with me in 'shaved filament'. I have put it at 10mm/s)

About the distance for jump / trigger: I use only 2mm for very small objects, and 10mm for larger objects.

I hope this helps a little.

Destring settings
« Reply #1 on: October 21, 2013, 04:27:44 AM »
Hi,

i'm new to the whole 3d printing stuff. I started 2 month ago with Slic3r, then Cura and no Kisslicer.
Kisslicer in general works well... except the strings. It makes me nuts.
I read everything here about settings etc. but it won't work.
I raised and lowered temperature, changed the settings, activated z-lift, deactivated z-lift, changed speed etc.... printed a couple of testobjects, but i'm stuck.
Objects without spares come out pretty well, but with spares...
I love Kisslicer and i'm trying to figure out, what i'm doing wrong.
Maybe someone could help me.
I'm pretty sure i messed it up... somehow...

The result at the end is the best i was able to print (with the settings below). I hope it is possible to make it better.
(I had prints where i thought Spiderman explodet ^^)

Thank you.

Ben
