Call Out for Official Volunteers For Sydney Marathon

If you sadly missed out on a place in the official for Sydney marathon, or was never planning to run it anyway but would like to be part of the excitement, then this is for you. Please speak to our volunteer coordinator Florence, or me and we will get you started.

KR has a long history of providing official volunteers for Sydney Marathon and everyone who has ever done it has always talked about the experience in glowing terms.

Last weekend’s 55^th City2Surf saw a huge turnout by the KRew to run the iconic course that winds its way to Bondi Beach. We did the annual pre-race photo in Hyde Park and post the race saw a huge contingent turn up the Beach Road Hotel for post race festivities. A great morning was had by all.

KR turns 20 in 2026

Next year Kirribilli Runners we will be celebrating 20 years of being the best social running club in Sydney. To help us celebrate we want to release a special 20^th Anniversary edition of the famous Red Shirt. (Entries closing soon)

Upcoming Events

KR long run will join with the Sydney Marathon Training Run this Sunday 17^th August and will be the last long run for many people before taking on Sydney marathon on 31^st August. Make sure you sign up for great prize draws as well as some good long run hit outs.

Upcoming Races

Many local and Australian 2025 races are now open for registration and if you think you will run any of them, I encourage you to sign up straight away as they will sell out. (Both Gold Coast marathon and half marathon, along with Melbourne marathon have already sold out.) 

Sydney Marathon is now only 2 weeks away and the ballot entries have long been closed and entries confirmed. If you missed out, consider becoming an official volunteer or coming down and supporting the KRew.

Bare Creek 20k Trail Race (ENTRIES NOW OPEN) will be held on 2nd November. In KR I know we have a lot of trail runners, those who think that spending the day out on the trails running mountains and fording streams is the only way to be free. This year I hope we can get a big contingent of the KRew up to Acron Oval to take on this beautiful course in Garrigal National Park. https://barecreektrailrun.com.au

Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!

If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

Tuesday Speed Sessions these are held every Tuesday at the place Gore Hill Oval at 6:30pm. All Welcome! See you there!
