Greetings KRew

I hope that everyone is doing well and managing to stay dry in all this stormy weather we are having, or if you are like me, and love running in the rain, then I hope you have fun getting wet and splashing through the puddles!

Movember is now over and from what I hear, everyone enjoyed participating in the various events that were held culminating in the big runs on Saturday to join with other running clubs at Centennial Park.

I’m very pleased to announce that this year we raised $3,500, which is an awesome effort, and much needed funds going to this great cause. A big thank you to Ale who was the leader for Movember and has done an awesome job!

But just because the month is over let’s not forget to keep on supporting those around us and near to us as we travel on our life’s journey.

Shop Closing 1 December! Yes the shop closes tomorrow so if you want to get the best gear so you look awesome going into 2024, be quick and ORDER NOW!

Last weekend was an exciting time for the KRew, as not only did we have the big runs for Movember, but several of us were also participating in a few different events around the place. We saw Brian And Becky racing a marathon in Lillydale just outside Melbourne, Megan did the Central Coast half marathon, and Margriet and myself did the Alpine Challenge 100k on the Bogong High Plains. As you all know I love to celebrate and recognise when the KRew are out Repping the Red, so please let us all know when you are out racing and repping by sharing your race on our FB page, or even just letting me know and I can make sure to share it with the KR.

Upcoming Events

Annual KR Christmas Party will be Sunday 10th December. As we always do we will be gathering about 12:30 at Clark Park in Lavendar Bay, and please bring some food to share and whatever you plan to drink. It will be a relaxing time to chat with your KR buddies before Christmas, and of course see who is going to the be the “KR Club Person of the Year for 2023”. See the post on the FB page for more details.

Cadbury Marathon 2024 This iconic marathon held in Hobart is coming up to its’ 41st edition on 7 Jan 24. I’ve done this one a few times and can highly recommend it as a great race and great way to get your 2024 racing calendar started. I know last year we had a few of the KRew down there who did a few of the distances on offer and all reported having a fun time. https://raceroster.com/events/2024/79514/cadbury-marathon

I see that registrations have already opened for many of the races that the KR like to do, with Canberra marathonHokka Sydney Half, and Sydney Marathon all have early bird registrations at the moment. (I hear we already have 33 people in our team for Sydney Marathon!)

Tuesday Speed Sessions. Every week as most of you know we hold a speed session on Tuesday nights at Gore Hill Oval starting at 6:30pm. It is great to see about 14 or 15 people coming each week to work on their speed and push themselves on the various sessions that we do. All are welcome and for more details please message me directly.

Tonight I am going to be a work function and so I have Tully to host for me, so give him plenty of support!

If you are bringing bags tonight, this week Mark will be there with his car to hold them whilst you run.  (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you, Mark, much appreciated!!

That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself and others.

Keep running @everyone and happy trails,

Steve
