Greetings KRew
After much anticipation it is here at last, the 3rd Annual RunDrinkRepeat games are on this Saturday at 2pm in Andersen Park. It will be fun afternoon with the highlight being the Blue-Ribbon event of the Beer Mile. Two-time reigning champion Brian has been in secret training determined to protect his crown. But with people like English John John, Mark and Tully, Georgie after her great showing last year, as well as some of our friends from NRG will all be hoping to knock him off his perch and grab the crown for themselves.
Whether you want to give the Beer Mile or some of the other events a crack, or just come along and cheer on all these brave souls as they take on this gruelling event. We’ll see you at 2pm at the park or pre-drinks at 1pm at the KH.

Upcoming Events
If you are up for a TCS Sydney Marathon Run Club training run, then they are holding the next of their monthly training runs this Sunday for a 12k group run. It starts in Hickson Park at the back of the casino in Barangaroo.
This is always a fun event however, if you have not yet registered, then sadly I hear they have run out of spots. I would say just go along and enjoy the run it’s not like they ever check, be a bit sneaky and cheeky 😊 (Remember to wear your KR top and Rep the Red and show your colours!)
Next week Nick and his team from Running Warehouse will be back with more shoes for us test. This time will be the turn of Mizuno, another of the great running shoe companies. So come along and give them a try on the superb KRClassic course.
Save the date, next KR Long Run will be 16th March! Stay tuned for more details closer to the date.
Upcoming Races
Many local and Australian 2025 races are now open for registration and if you think you will run any of them, I encourage you to sign up straight away as they will sell out. (Both Gold Coast marathon and half marathon, along with Melbourne marathon have already sold out.)
Canberra Marathon 2025 registration is now open. I’m expecting a big contingent of the KRew will be heading to Canberra for this beautiful Autumn Day run through our Nation’s Capital. https://solemotive.com/pages/canberra-times-marathon-festival
The Hoka Half in May has sold out, so if you missed out try again now or consider becoming one of our official volunteers or coming down and support the KRew running this iconic event. https://runawaysydneyhalf.com.au/
The Bay to Bay running festival 2025 on Sunday 15th June has just opened registrations. This is a hugely popular event that runs from Woy Woy to Gosford and last year was a sellout. I know a lot of the KRew will want to do this race, so sign up now and join the Kirribilli Runners team for a great morning of running on the central coast. https://www.baytobay.org.au/
City to Surf, this year will be 10th August, just a few weeks before the Sydney Marathon and will be a great last fast race before the main event. Stay tuned and we will let you know when registrations open for this as it will sell out quickly. https://city2surf.com.au
TCS Sydney Marathon, has been moved to 31st August and the ballot entries have now closed and entries confirmed. If you missed out, consider becoming an official volunteer or coming down and supporting the KRew.
Bare Creek 20k Trail Race will be held on 2nd November. In KR I know we have a lot of trail runners, those who think that spending the day out on the trails running mountains and fording streams is the only way to be free. But as a club we haven’t really supported any of the many trail races that are on around Sydney. So this year I hope we can get a big contingent of the KRew up to Acron Oval to take on this beautiful course in Garigal National Park. https://barecreektrailrun.com.au
For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces
Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!
If you want to find some races for yourself, I highly recommend using The Running Calendar website which lists just about every race in Australia. If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

Tuesday Speed Sessions these are led by either Scott, or myself and are held every Tuesday at the place Gore Hill Oval at 6:30pm. See you there!
If you are bringing bags tonight, Evelyn we will be there with her car to hold them whilst you run. (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you Evelyn, very much appreciated!!
That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself and others.
Keep running @everyone and happy trails,
Steve
