Greetings KRew
Another year is nearly at an end, and it is time for the annual KR KRistmas Party. This year we are going to be at Blues Point Reserve from 12pm for our annual bash. We will be giving out the annual KR awards and the coveted KR Director’s Trophy for Club Member of the Year for 2025. (I know everyone will be excited about the winner….)
After the success of the Great KR Bake Off last year, Greg is again running the bake-off competition and again with three categories of winner, Best Tasting, Best Looking and Most Moist. I can’t wait to share my creation with you all!
As always it is a BYO party, please bring some food to share and whatever you’d like to drink. Bring a sun hat, sunscreen, picnic blanket and be prepared for a fun afternoon.
Last Saturday a bunch of the KRew joined other running clubs in Sydney for the 2025 [mo]re than a run 30k and 10k events. It was a fun morning run along the harbour finishing at the Woolly Bay Hotel for breakfast and fruit juice.
Tonight, we will be running the original KRClassic - Vivid Variation course due to a concert on the Opera House Forecourt. This is a great course that takes us under the bridge to the water and then into Barangaroo turning at the cutaway and back up the hill to the bridge and home. (See photo of course below)
20th Anniversary Update
The KR Committee is continuing to work on the 2026 KR Calendar, and we are busy finalising running and social events along with highlighting some of the races that we will be promoting and supporting.
If you have any suggestions of events and activities for the club in 2026, please reach out to me, Luzaan or any of the other committee members. We are always looking for ideas from the club to add to what we do.
I’m sure everyone is looking forward to getting the 20th Anniversary KR Shirts, I’m expecting them to be delivered in time for Christmas. Will be a great start to the New Year.

Upcoming Races
As hard as it to believe but we are nearly at the end of the 2025 and soon the 2026 races will be starting. On Saturday 31st January will be the first race that will have plenty of the KRew toeing the start line is the Sun Run from Dee Why to Manly. A challenging and fun 10k or 7km race and the perfect way to start the year off. At the moment they have early bird pricing and Ludmila has created the Kirribilli Runners team. So come along and join the fun.
Canberra Times Running Festival 11 and 12 April 2026. This is always a popular event for the KRew, and I know we will have a lot of us head off to our Nation’s Capital for the weekend. If you are thinking of doing it, then sign up today as early bird pricing ends today!

Shortly we will publish a list of the races that we will be promoting in 2026 and I hope that you can join us either racing or supporting. As a hint check out the new Paramatta Half held in June which should be a good race to head out west for.

For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces
Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!
If you want to find some races for yourself, I highly recommend using The Running Calendar website which lists just about every race in Australia. If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

If you are bringing bags tonight, Trevor is back and will have his car there to hold them whilst you run. (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you, Trevor much appreciated!
If you’d like to volunteer your car, please let me know!
That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself, and if you can, others.
Keep running @everyone and happy trails,
Steve
