Tonight is the Final KRClassic for 2022

Greetings KRew

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas break and that you have been able to find some down time relaxing with your family and friends, and a little bit of running to counter all the Christmas Pudding.

Your favourite running club will still be on tonight for the final run across the bridge. Unfortunately I will be away tonight and so I’ve asked Helena to host for me and so she will be there to greet you and send everyone off for the run.

This morning I went for a run on the course and unfortunately most of the boardwalk around the Opera House is closed and so we will be making a course change for tonight. Also they are setting up for a big event at the Veil of Trees Park. Therefore, it will be the normal start and then across the bridge and along the Cahill Expressway and into Monument Park down to Macquarie St and return back to the start the same way. This will be a bit shorter than normal but will still be a great way to finish the year of running.

Last week we had another great Santa Run with a big contingent of the KRew getting into the Christmas Spirit with Santa hats and some Santa suits ringing bells as we did a group run to the Opera House. From there into the Botanic Gardens where there was a Christmas Market where we could get some mulled wine and enjoy some live music before heading back to the KH for a chat and a drink with our running buddies.

It was a lot of fun and something that we will definitely do again next year!

Upcoming Events

For 2023 we have a lot of exciting ideas for the KRew to do, both social events and running events and in the next weeks I’ll let you know what they are, so stay tuned!

Australia Day Run for IMF (Indigenous Marathon Fund) 26th January is a Thursday this year and so for KRClassic we will hold a bit of a fundraiser for this very excellent cause. Some of you may remember we did something similar a few years ago and it was a fun run with all having a great time. Details of the run and of IMF to follow. https://www.imf.org.au

Sun Run first Saturday in February; I know a lot of KR already signed up for this annual dash from Dee Why to Manly followed by brunch at Shelly Beach. See you there!

Next year for Canberra Marathon we now have a discount code that gives you 10% off, so use that if you are going to sign up for it. (SM-MEMBER-KR) 

Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 17 Sep 23! Never to early to sign up for the marathon and get your training program sorted. I have started a KR group so make sure you join the KRew team!

If you are bringing bags, then the ever-reliable Helena will be there with her car to hold them whilst you run.  (But please pick them up as soon as we finished the run!) Thank you Helena that is really awesome!!
