Greetings KRew

I’m sending the newsletter out a day early as a reminder to not forget that our Australia Day run is on tomorrow morning at 7:30am meeting at the usual spot by the steps of the bridge in Kirribilli. And naturally everyone is welcome to join us just like all KR events; we encourage everyone to join us!

It will be a group run of about 10km taking us across the bridge and into the Botanic Gardens and then wind our way back to Kirribilli. We will stop along the way to gather together and take some group photos.

Lastly thank you to all the people who have donated to the Indigenous Marathon Foundation, so far we have raised over $750, which is amazing, but we’d like to raise some more as we set a goal of $1,000. So if you haven’t already and feel so inclined it would be great to donate to this great cause, $5 or $10 will make a difference!  https://www.imf.org.au

Last week we had another perfect night for running and a big crowd. It is great to see so many KR running across the bridge and around the Opera House, it certainly makes a bit buzz of all those excited runners at the start and finish of the run.

Upcoming Events

Next Saturday the 4th of Feb is the annual Sun Run; I know a lot of KR are already signed up for this annual dash from Dee Why to Manly and it will be followed by brunch at Shelly Beach. See you there!

For Canberra Marathon 2023 will be a big group of KR already signed up and busy training for the race. Best thing is that we now have a discount code that gives you 10% off, so use that if you are going to sign up for it. (SM-MEMBER-KR)

Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 17 Sep 23! Never to early to sign up for the marathon and get your training program sorted. I have started a KR group so make sure you join the KRew team!

Coming up on Sunday afternoon the 25th February we are having a special KR Sunday Run Fun event, incorporating a beer mile! Stay tuned….

KR Long Runs starting soon! We have been thinking of introducing a long run once a month for anyone who wants to join. It will be held on a Sunday morning and be distances of about 20k to 30k, although anyone can run shorter if they want. They will start and finish in Kirribilli and we will have GPX files of the course for you to upload to Strava. Stay tuned for the invite.

If you are bringing bags tomorrow morning, then the ever-reliable Helena will be there with her car to hold them whilst you run.  (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you Helena that is really awesome!!

That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself and others.

Keep running and happy trails,

Steve
