Just because it is fun today, October 9th is the official International Beer and Pizza Day so a perfect day to celebrate this internationally recognised day by running the KRClassic, followed by a cold one at the KH and on to the Kirribilli Pizzeria.

Being from Queensland, one of the things I appreciate about living in NSW is daylight saving. From now until April next year we will have the long warm evenings to enjoy a run, sitting outside for a picnic, and great light to take photos. So come along for the first KRClassic in the light.
20th Anniversary Shirt – Shop to close in just a week
As I announced last week, the 20th Anniversary Shirt is now available to order at the KR Shop. People are loving the new logo that we’ve added to the shirt, and I think it is going to be a popular clothing choice for the KRew in 2026 and beyond.
As well as the usual range of KR branded gear you will notice there is a new light running jacket been added to the shop. It is available in Red and Black and looks awesome. Shop will close 19th October so that we can get the shirts in time for Christmas.

This Saturday is the Biennial KR Wine Tour. It is going to be an awesome event with the KRew visiting 4 wineries and lunch at a great location in the Southern Highlands.
Melbourne Marathon this weekend and a few of the KRew are down there for this epic event. Having run it a few times, I can tell you it is a lovely course and quite flat so great to some fast times. I know all the KRew wish the people down there well. GO KR!!
Upcoming Events
Annual Halloween Run 30th October. We will hold our annual Halloween run on the Thursday before All Hallows Eve to get our spooky in early. This is always a fun group run where many of the KRew dress up and get into the ‘spirit’ of the day. So start thinking about what you dress as to ‘scare’ the locals on the bridge.
Next KR long run this Sunday 19th October. Tully will release the course and run leads closer to the date. See you all there.
Save the Date – KR Christmas Party confirmed for Sunday 7th December. Each year we hold our annual Christmas Party, always a big event on the KR calendar where we share food, laughs and of course announce the KR Member of the Year. I will confirm the location closer to the date, so stay tuned.
Tuesday Speed Sessions these are held every Tuesday at the place Gore Hill Oval at 6:30pm. Great way to practice for next year’s Relay Race. All Welcome! See you there!
Upcoming Races
Bare Creek 20k Trail Race (ENTRIES NOW OPEN) will be held on 2nd November. In KR I know we have a lot of trail runners, those who think that spending the day out on the trails running mountains and fording streams is the only way to be free. This year I hope we can get a big contingent of the KRew up to Acron Oval to take on this beautiful course in Garrigal National Park. https://barecreektrailrun.com.au
For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces
Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!

If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.
