Greetings KRew
You will remember that for the last few years KR has been active in supporting Movember, an event that is about supporting men’s mental health. Although we didn’t actively support it this year, we have all been invited to their annual “[mo]re than a run” event this Saturday. If you are looking for a run on Saturday and to support this great cause, then please register and join the KRew running from the Imax to the Wolly Bay Hotel. Distances are 10k starting at 7:45am, 30k starting at 6am and 60k own start time. (At the finish there are snacks and refreshments being provided and they will have a cash bar).

20th Anniversary Update
The KR Committee is continuing to work on the 2026 KR Calendar, and we are busy finalising running and social events along with highlighting some of the races that we will be promoting and supporting.
If you have any suggestions of events and activities for the club in 2026, please reach out to me, Luzaan or any of the other committee members. We are always looking for ideas from the club to add to what we do.
I’m sure everyone is looking forward to getting the 20th Anniversary KR Shirts, I’m expecting them to be delivered in time for Christmas. Will be a great start to the New Year.
Upcoming Events
KR Christmas Party is confirmed for Sunday 7th December and this year at Blues Point Reserve. Each year we hold our annual Christmas Party, always a big event on the KR calendar where we share food, laughs and of course announce the annual awards and the KR Member of the Year. (See invite from Greg and details of the Annual Great KR Bake Off)
Tuesday Speed Sessions these are held every Tuesday at the place Gore Hill Oval at 6:30pm. Great way to practice for next year’s Relay Race. All Welcome! See you there!
Upcoming Races
As hard as it to believe but we are nearly at the end of the 2025 and soon the 2026 races will be starting. On Saturday 31st January will be the first race that will have plenty of the KRew toeing the start line is the Sun Run from Dee Why to Manly. A challenging and fun 10k or 7km race and the perfect way to start the year off. At the moment they have early bird pricing and Ludmila has created the Kirribilli Runners team. So come along and join the fun.
Canberra Times Running Festival 11 and 12 April 2026. This is always a popular event for the KRew, and I know we will have a lot of us head off to our Nation’s Capital for the weekend. If you are thinking of doing it, then sign up today as early bird pricing ends today!

Shortly we will publish a list of the races that we will be promoting in 2026 and I hope that you can join us either racing or supporting. As a hint check out the new Paramatta Half held in June which should be a good race to head out west for.

For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces
Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!
If you want to find some races for yourself, I highly recommend using The Running Calendar website which lists just about every race in Australia. If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

If you are bringing bags tonight, Trevor is back and will have his car there to hold them whilst you run. (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you, Trevor much appreciated!
If you’d like to volunteer your car, please let me know!
That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself, and if you can, others.
Keep running @everyone and happy trails,
Steve
