New Monday Night KR10k Host Announced

I’m writing today to let you that our Monday night host and KR committee member Brian has chosen to step away from a leadership role in Kirribilli Runners due to personal reasons and sent me the following note to share with you all:
“Time to Pass the Baton 🦊🏃♂️
After much thought, I’ve decided that the time has come for me to step down from hosting Kirribilli Runners on Monday nights.
I’ve been hosting for a number of years now — I honestly can’t remember if it’s two, three, or four (probably somewhere in the middle!) — but every one of those Monday nights has been an absolute pleasure. Seeing everyone show up with great energy, supporting each other, and starting the week on such a positive note has been incredibly rewarding.
With an increased workload, a bit more work travel ahead, and a longer holiday planned over December and January, it feels like the right time to hand things over so the group can keep running smoothly (pun intended!).
I also want to give a special shout-out to the KR committee and run hosts. The personal time and effort they put in behind the scenes often goes unseen, but every Monday and Thursday night, and at weekend events like the Sunday Long Runs, there’s someone (or a few people) quietly putting in the work to make sure everyone gets the most out of their runs. Please remember and appreciate that, it’s what keeps this amazing community thriving.
Thanks to everyone who’s joined me over the years, it’s been awesome sharing the road (and the laughs) with you all.
See you this Monday, and I know you’ll give your full support to your new Monday host. 🦊💪”
I’d personally and on behalf of the KR community like to thank Brian for all his hard work in leading Monday nights KR10k over the last few years, as well as the support he has provided me in helping to keep Kirribilli Runners the active, vibrant club that it is today. Brian has always been very proactive in promoting KR and supporting the membership. It was great to see Brian proudly Repping the Red in many races both in Australia and Overseas.
Thank you again Brian and I know you will continue to be an active member and supporter of Kirribilli Runners.
New Monday Night KR10k Host
It gives me great pleasure to announce that I have asked Melvyn to join the committee and take over as the host for KR10k on Monday nights. I’m pleased to say that Melvyn has accepted, and I know will be a valuable member of my committee and the Monday host going forward.
Please join me in congratulating and supporting Melvyn and I know he will help take us forward to next great KR adventure.
