Here we are nearly at the end of July already…. Where does the time go? I hope that you are not letting a little thing like the weather dictate your running and getting out there as often as you can to pound the pavement and get those kilometres done. This is especially so as we are well into racing season now, with quite a few of the major races done for 2022 and still some excellent ones to come along, so if you are into racing then sign up for a few and especially the ones a lot of the KRew will be doing!
Of course, if you are not into racing but just love running that is what you should do, I know that we have many members who just love to run and enjoy the freedom running offers. Really just as long as you get out, enjoy the magnificent city that we live in!!
Talking of racing this Sunday is the Real Insurance Sydney 10k the flattest 10k you’ll ever do. I know we have a lot of the KRew out there to get some PBs and also some folks for whom this their first ever race – go well and have fun!!
Last Sunday we all had a great morning joining the crew from Girls Run Sydney for a joint run raising money for Women’s Rights. It was good run with more than 30 people taking on a 10k course through the gardens in support of this excellent cause. Judy was very excited as she beat her fund raising goal and is planning for more joint events. Well done all!
Shirt News
I think the new shirts are a bit of hit and I’m hearing good things about them especially how light and breathable they are.
I have now looked at what I have with 2XU shirts and if you are after one please message or write to me with what you are looing for. I have mainly M male and S female singlets and a few –shirts and long sleeve shirts of various sizes, but hit me up anyway you never know I might have what you are looking for. I have now sold a few of the 2XU that I have but please keep on to me about them to see if I have something that will fit you.
Upcoming Events
On July 24th there is the Real Insurance Sydney Harbour 10k and 5k events, always a good turnout of the KRew and I believe Anthony is organising a team, so be on the lookout for that one. I suggest registering today as early bird discount finishes on Friday!
City to Surf 2022 entries are open and so far we have over 50 people in the KR team who are excited to be Repping the Red on that iconic course heading to Bondi Beach. I’m sure the City Beach Hotel will be pleased to see the KRew back for a few bevies post the race!
Talking of City to Surf after last Sundays very successful joint run with Girls Run Sydney Judy has organised a joint C2S training run on 31st July, check out the invite on the FB page and join for a fun morning along New Southhead Road!
Blackmores Running Festival in September entries are open and early bird discounts nearly gone. When you sign up make sure you join the Kirribilli Runners team! I’m sure that a lot of us will be doing that event and in fact are already in training for the marathon event! We will also be looking for volunteers, so if you are not running come along and give something back to your community!
