Greetings KRew

Tonight, will be the 2025 KRClassic Santa Run, this will be a group run and will stop on the steps pf the Opera House for a photo and again on the Southern Steps of the Bridge on the way back. It will be a fun evening with the KRew dressed in their best Santa, Elf, Reindeer gear ringing bells and wishing all of Sydney a Merry Christmas!

We will need to be a bit careful as there is a temporary structure on the bridge that cuts the width of the path in half, but I know we will be fine!

In the photos this week I have included a photo of the KR Christmas run from 2024 and from 2015, as you can see we have a long tradition of dress up runs for Christmas.

It was great last week to join up for a run with our friends from Kirribilli Joggers. I know members of both clubs enjoyed it and Jess and I will plan for a joint run about once a quarter in the coming year.

20th Anniversary Update

The KR Committee is continuing to work on the 2026 KR Calendar, and we are busy finalising running and social events along with highlighting some of the races that we will be promoting and supporting.

If you have any suggestions of events and activities for the club in 2026, please reach out to me, Luzaan or any of the other committee members. We are always looking for ideas from the club to add to what we do.

Update on 20th Anniversary KR Shirts: I have written to Sub4 about the shirts delivery as I expected them by now. They are looking into it and going back to their producers.

Upcoming Events

Rescheduled to this coming Monday will be the annual KR10k Reverse Beverage Run always a fun event with the KRew visiting 2 pubs along the route. Come prepared for a fun run with your running buddies drinking a few beverages as we go.

KRistmas Day KRClassic will be at 7:30am. This is a great way to start the days festivities with a great run, before presents, mince tarts, turkey and egg nog!

New Year’s Day KRClassic will be at the usual time and will be the best way kick start your 2026.

Tuesday Speed Sessions these are held every Tuesday at the place Gore Hill Oval at 6:30pm. Great way to practice for next year’s Relay Race. All Welcome! See you there!

Upcoming Races

As hard as it is to believe but we are nearly at the end of the 2025 and soon the 2026 races will be starting. On Saturday 31st January will be the first race that will have plenty of the KRew toeing the start line is the Sun Run from Dee Why to Manly. A challenging and fun 10k or 7km race and the perfect way to start the year off. At the moment they have early bird pricing and Ludmila has created the Kirribilli Runners team. So come along and join the fun.

Canberra Times Running Festival 11 and 12 April 2026. This is always a popular event for the KRew, and I know there will be a lot of us heading off to our Nation’s Capital for the weekend. If you are thinking of doing it, then sign up today.

Shortly we will publish a list of the races that we will be promoting in 2026 and I hope that you can join us either racing or supporting. As a hint check out the new Paramatta Half held in June which should be a good race to head out west for.

For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces

Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!

If you want to find some races for yourself, I highly recommend using The Running Calendar website which lists just about every race in Australia. If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

If you are bringing bags tonight, we will have a car there to hold them whilst you run. (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you, and. much appreciated!

If you’d like to volunteer your car, please let me know!

That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself, and if you can, others.

Keep running @everyone and happy trails,

Steve
