Greetings KRew
On Tuesday at our regular speed session, it was great to see KR Reds (Brian, Rick, Tully, Mark) get presented with two trophies from NRG for the NRG v KR 4 * 60 relay event that was a held a few weeks ago. KR Reds wone the both the handicap event and the open event. Congratulations to the team for such a great result.
Running is usually a solo sport, and although we cheer each other on and support each other in our endeavours, when you break it down you run for you. So this year it has been great to see the KRew getting together and racing as teams. By my count the KRew formed relay teams at, NRG v KR 4 * 60, Bondi2Manly, Sri Chinmoy Mara-fun Relay and Carcoar Cup. Everyone of all running abilities who participated, reported that they had a fun time and loved being part of a team.
As part of the coming KR 20th Anniversary Celebrations we will be looking for more of these events for the KRew to race and support. If you see a relay event that is happening let us know and let’s go racing.
Last weekend we had the last KR Long Run for the year with the KRew doing either a 20k and 10k on a hot and steamy course.
Also last weekend a group of us headed down to Royal National Park for the Sri Chinmoy half and 10k which is held each year on Lady Carrington Drive. It was great morning with everyone having a fun time on this open fire trail race.
Upcoming Events
Save the Date – KR Christmas Party is confirmed for Sunday 7th December and this year at Blues Point Reserve. Each year we hold our annual Christmas Party, always a big event on the KR calendar where we share food, laughs and of course announce the annual awards and the KR Member of the Year.
Tuesday Speed Sessions these are held every Tuesday at the place Gore Hill Oval at 6:30pm. Great way to practice for next year’s Relay Race. All Welcome! See you there!
Upcoming Races
As hard as it to believe but we are nearly at the end of the 2025 and soon the 2026 races will be starting. On Saturday 31st January will be the first race that will have plenty of the KRew toeing the start line is the Sun Run from Dee Why to Manly. A challenging and fun 10k or 7km race and the perfect way to start the year off. At the moment they have early bird pricing and Ludmila has created the Kirribilli Runners team. So come along and join the fun. Early bird pricing ends soon!
Shortly we will publish a list of the races that we will be promoting in 2026 and hope that you can join us either racing or supporting. As a hint check out the new Paramatta Half held in June which should be a good race to head out west for.

For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces
Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!
If you want to find some races for yourself, I highly recommend using The Running Calendar website which lists just about every race in Australia. If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

If you are bringing bags tonight, we will have a car to hold them whilst you run. (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you, much appreciated!
If you’d like to volunteer your car, please let me know!
That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself, and if you can, others.
Keep running @everyone and happy trails,
Steve
