I hope you are all going well and been enjoying some of the perfect running weather we’ve been having in the last few weeks. I know that many of the KRew are regularly running both the Monday KR10k and KRClassic, and it’s great to see some of us meeting up with some of our running buddies, for a run and some socialising.
Firstly the KR Christmas party will be held on the afternoon of 19th December, so keep that date free and come along for a lovely afternoon with all your KR friends, and of course we will be announcing the annual KR Club Person of the Year. (Stay tuned for more details.)
Before that there are few races comin up as I talked about last week, firstly on Sunday December 5th is the Real Insurance 5k and 10k, a Kirribilli Runner team has been created, so join the team and have some fun on a flat fast course.
Looking a bit further out, in April next year is the Canberra Marathon as part of the Australian Running Festival, we’ve set up a team so when you register make sure you join the Kirribilli Runner team, and now is a good time to start your training regime!
Circles of displeasure
Circles of displeasure are a necessary evil if you are looking to run faster. They can be disguised as sprints between light poles, repeats up short hills and just about anything that gets your heart rate up and you breathing heavy.
While running my circles of displeasure, aka interval training/speed session I was thinking about my technique. I was wondering if I should be doing fartleks, how much warm up, cool down, dynamic stretching, what was the best pace.
I went looking for these answers and came across this article on the topic. It kept me interested so I expect if you are a novice or an experienced runner this article will have some value for you too
