Greetings KRew

I hope everyone is getting their last minute list completed as there is only one sleep to go. And by that, I mean one sleep till the KRistmas Day KRClassic run, which is at 7:30am – A great way to start your day before the celebrating, eating and basically overindulging!! Let’s get out and celebrate with an early morning run across the bridge.

Last weeks Santa run was another fun evening for all and always nice to have a group run and take some fun photos as we go. We then followed that up with the KR10k Reverse Beverage Run another fun evening stopping a couple of great pubs for a beverage before stopping at the Australian for a quick drink before the final push across the bridge and home.

20th Anniversary Update

The KR Committee is continuing to work on the 2026 KR Calendar, and we are busy finalising running and social events along with highlighting some of the races that we will be promoting and supporting.

If you have any suggestions of events and activities for the club in 2026, please reach out to me, Luzaan or any of the other committee members. We are always looking for ideas from the club to add to what we do.

Update on 20th Anniversary KR Shirts: I have written to Sub4 about the shirts delivery as I expected them by now, unfortunately they have written to say they had a mix up in the factory, but they will be here in the first week or so of January.

Upcoming Events

New Year’s Day KRClassic will be at the usual time and will be the best way kick start your 2026.

Tuesday Speed Sessions are taking a pause for two weeks and then we will be back tackling the circles at the speed session.

Upcoming Races

As hard as it is to believe but we are nearly at the end of the 2025 and soon the 2026 races will be starting. On Saturday 31st January will be the first race that will have plenty of the KRew toeing the start line is the Sun Run from Dee Why to Manly. A challenging and fun 10k or 7km race and the perfect way to start the year off. At the moment they have early bird pricing and Ludmila has created the Kirribilli Runners team. So come along and join the fun.

Canberra Times Running Festival 11 and 12 April 2026. This is always a popular event for the KRew, and I know there will be a lot of us heading off to our Nation’s Capital for the weekend. If you are thinking of doing it, then sign up today.

Shortly we will publish a list of the races that we will be promoting in 2026 and I hope that you can join us either racing or supporting. As a hint check out the new Paramatta Half held in June which should be a good race to head out west for.

For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces

Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!

If you want to find some races for yourself, I highly recommend using The Running Calendar website which lists just about every race in Australia. If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

If you are bringing bags in the morning, I’m sure we will sort something out.

If you’d like to volunteer your car, please let me know!

Before I end, I’d like to wish you and yours a very Merry and Safe Christmas!

Keep running @everyone and happy trails,

Steve
