Greetings KRew
On Tuesday 44 of the KRew spread across 11 teams, lined up to take on NRG at the Annual 4*60 Relay at Gore Hill Oval. I pleased to say that KR went on to dominate the evening both in running, supporting and cheering one another on.
The event lines up teams of 4 to see which of them can run the most laps in 60 minutes. As runners we usually tend to run for ourselves, but in a relay you are running for your team, and everyone just tried that bit harder, and everyone surprised themselves on how fast they ran and how many laps their teams did. It was inspiring to watch each and every person run and support their team that night.
This year returning champions Kirribilli Reds again proved their dominance taking out both the Open title and the Handicap Title, with Kirribilli Roar coming in 2nd.
I know all of KR says a big thank you and congratulations to NRG for hosting another very successful event. NRG were much faster this year and the KRew did not have it all their own way. I know everyone can’t wait to do it again next year and I expect we will have even more teams and runners of all standards pushing themselves hard to get round the oval.
See the results and the teams posted below.
20th Anniversary Shirt
As I announced last week, the 20th Anniversary Shirt is now available to order at the KR Shop. People are loving the new logo that we’ve added to the shirt, and I think it is going to be a popular clothing choice for the KRew in 2026 and beyond.
As well as the usual range of KR branded gear you will notice there is a new light running jacket been added to the shop. It is available in Red and Black and looks awesome. Shop will close 19th October so that we can get the shirts in time for Christmas.

We have now filled our allocation for the Biennial KR Wine Tour. It is going to be an awesome event with the KRew visiting 4 wineries and lunch at a great location in the Southern Highlands.
Save the Date – KR Christmas Party confirmed for Sunday 7th December. Each year we hold our annual Christmas Party, always a big event on the KR calendar where we share food, laughs and of course announce the KR Member of the Year. I will confirm the location closer to the date, so stay tuned.
Upcoming Events
Next KR long run this Sunday 19th October. Tully will release the course and run leads closer to the date. See you all there.
Tuesday Speed Sessions these are held every Tuesday at the place Gore Hill Oval at 6:30pm. Great way to practice for next year’s Relay Race. All Welcome! See you there!
Upcoming Races
Bare Creek 20k Trail Race (ENTRIES NOW OPEN) will be held on 2nd November. In KR I know we have a lot of trail runners, those who think that spending the day out on the trails running mountains and fording streams is the only way to be free. This year I hope we can get a big contingent of the KRew up to Acron Oval to take on this beautiful course in Garrigal National Park. https://barecreektrailrun.com.au
For a friendly, low pressure local race series that is very reasonably priced, has various distances on offer and held is some of the most scenic parts of Sydney, check our Sri Chinmoy. https://au.srichinmoyraces.org/sydneyraces
Of course, there are many races throughout the year that the KR will do, such as those out at Sydney Olympic Park and around the foreshore. We will highlight as many we think of, but if you have one to promote you think the KRew will love, let us know!
If you want to find some races for yourself, I highly recommend using The Running Calendar website which lists just about every race in Australia. If you find a race that has a KR Team and needs a code let me know. Or if you are the first KR to sign up for a race, please create a KR team and let me know.

If you are bringing bags tonight, Trevor will be there with his car to hold them whilst you run. (But please pick them up as soon as we have finished the run!) Thank you, Trevor much appreciated!
That’s a wrap for this week; remember to take care of yourself, and if you can, others.
Keep running @everyone and happy trails,
Steve
