No Fireworks just a great run across the Bridge

It is Thursday and it is time to lace up your shoes and head to Kirribilli for the weekly run on the KRClassic course. This week I’m expecting the weather to be kind to us, overcast, warmish and should be perfect conditions for running.
This weekend we have a bit of racing going on and plenty of time for Repping the Red on a zippy Half Marathon. Firstly on Sunday is the quite flat and fast Sydney Half out at Sydney Olympic Park where we have a large group repping the Red, some will doing their first ever half. Also on Sunday is the delayed Festival of Feet Half Marathon out along the peaceful Georges River, a deceptive course with a few hidden hills in it.
Also this weekend on Saturday will be the monthly Sydney Striders 10k event for a fast tune up for your legs. Along with the Coastal Classic on Saturday, last year we had quite a few enter an not sure if we have any out Repping the Red down there, but I see it is still open so if you are up for a scenic trail race along the coastline in RNP, I encourage you to sign up for it.
Shirt News
I will open the order link again shortly as I think we now have enough people wanting more shirts to reach the minimum of 20 per order that we need.
I only have a few 2XU shirts and if you are after one please message or write to me with what you are looing for. I have a couple of XS male and S female singlets and a few M and one L female T-shirts shirts but hit me up anyway you never know I might have what you are looking for. I have now sold a few of the 2XU that I have but please keep on to me about them to see if I have something that will fit you.
Upcoming Events
Don’t forget Blackmores Running Festival in September is the next big KR event! Entries are open and when you sign up make sure you join the Kirribilli Runners team! I’m sure that a lot of us will be doing that event and in fact are already in training for the marathon event! Post the race we will gather and have a brunch (except for those of us still doing the last few km of the marathon if we are not quick enough.) Stay tuned for more details.
We are now looking for volunteers, so if you are not running come along and give something back to your community! Helen has again kindly volunteered to coordinate our volunteer roster and has now posted on our page, so let her know.
Tonight’s KRClassic
For the run tonight, if you are bringing bags, I’m pleased to say that Helena is back and will be there with her car, to hold them whilst you run. Thank you Helena that is really awesome!!
