Fellow Runners,
We had a solid turn-out for last Thursday’s run, a perfect preface to the Easter long weekend. As Fiona and Tony agreed—‘Lovely night for a run!’ And so it was. Conditions were mild, the moon full and bright.* And, a departing cruise ship, effulgent with light. Peter was among those so impressed: ‘It was a real sight to see the large cruise ship heading out from Circular Quay.’ Several ventured much the same, including Gareth: ‘Beautiful night—first run in the dark, with the cruise ship turning next to the Opera House. Spectacular.’ There were others, though, who, for better or worse, focused on the running. Brad, for example, fell into this category.** And, in doing so, he discovered that he was ‘Much faster when I don’t run 5 kms just beforehand!’ Dynamic duo, Ann and Megan, were also focused on locomotive matters. So much so that they punctuated their run with intervals. ‘[We] felt great’, they staunchly maintained. Amanda had her ‘First run with the group since the end of the monsoon summer. Felt great!’ Kieran, too, was ‘Back after a long spell’. English duo Di and Andrew, meanwhile, ‘Just ran over the bridge to wish everyone a Happy Easter.’ We welcome those new to the KRs including Paul D—‘First run, great circuit, will be back!’ And also Anne L—‘Run number two and loved it.’ OK, once again, some upcoming fun runs to think about:

KR Ski trip 19-24/26 August (Gareth)
After the success of last year's inaugural ski trip, we're planning a larger scale effort for 2012, and are hoping to get a big group together to go to Thredbo. All levels of skier and boarder are welcome, from total beginners to experts. The tentative plan at this stage is to have a week's rest following the City2Surf (Sun Aug 12) then go for 4-6 days skiing from Sun 19th - Fri 24th / Sun 26th. Depending on numbers we'll rent one or more lodges / apartments to make the apres-ski easier. Indicative costs would be around $700-1000 per head for the accommodation, and about $100-120/day for ski pass / lessons / equipment hire, depending on what you need. We can pool cars and cook together, so transport and meals should be cheap. The only likely blow-out will be the wine bill :)If you're (even vaguely) interested please let me know (gda...@sxvp.com) so I can put you on the 'maybe' list. I'll firm up numbers over the next month or so and book early to get a good place. If you want to find out more or discuss options just catch me on a Thursday night . Hope to see you there. Gareth
