to Highlands Neighborhood Association

At our last general meeting we learned about the school bond proposal.

We also learned about the city's DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging) program. What can we as a neighborhood association do to be more welcoming and inclusive? How do we ensure that everyone has a voice? Please reach out to your neighbors to make sure they feel welcome and included. They can learn more about the Highlands neighborhood here: https://kirklandhighlands.org/

Kirkland's thirteen Neighborhood Associations are independent volunteer organizations that work in partnership with the City to improve the quality of life for everyone in Kirkland. The neighborhood associations are open to all members of the community. Despite efforts to engage underrepresented community members, the neighborhood associations generally tend to engage longer term residents, particularly those that own their home, which is a trend seen in other communities.
